Merite et Devouement Francais is an organization that
awards prizes to encourage e.g. those working in the fields
of arts, science and sports. The committee of the
organization is composed of members of the French Academy
and persons distinquished in differed walks of life. The
organization awards three or four medals annually and it is
extremely rare that a foreigner is awarded. Olli Joki is the
first Finn in their list.
